Should Beepers Be Banned?

Nowadays, in the United States, beepers are popular. Most of the people have beepers, of course including students. In some States, you could go to jail for carrying a beeper to school. Students who carry beepers to school have their own reasons. However, I believe that beepers should be banned in school.

I have some reasons to support my opinion. Students carrying beepers to school will make several problems. Students who get beeped during class will be distracted from learning and also will interrupt other students. In this school, students can’t carry beepers to school. It is school rule. However, some students still carry beepers to school. I remember one time, when I was in ESL class, a student’s beeper got beeped during the class and everyone stopped their learning and looked at him. His beeper interrupted people and people could not study attentively. In addition, the teacher needed to take time to head the students to pay attention. Some kinds of beepers are expensive. It is wasting money for some students who do not work but buy a beeper. Beepers cause robbery because people rob beepers can make money by selling them. Sometimes, beepers are associated with drug deals and gang activity. Banning beepers can make school safer and reduce the drug and gang problems. Some students who carry beepers to school say that their parents want to be able to reach them easily in an emergency. However, it is not necessary. If parents need to reach their children in an emergency, they can always call the school office.

All of the reasons on above are why I believe that beepers should be banned in school. If people think beepers are necessary to them, they can carry beeper anywhere except in school.
